3 Things to Know Before Getting a Korean Plastic Surgery Neck Lift

Written by Chelsea Kim. Posted in Anti-Aging Treatment

korean plastic surgery neck lift procedureA person’s neck is one of the first places that shows signs of aging. The Korean plastic surgery neck lift procedure is specifically aimed to help patients who want their necks to look firmer and younger. A sagging neck is normal for everyone once they pass the age of forty, because the skin becomes much looser, especially when a healthy diet is not maintained.

Who is this for?

A sagging neck is not a life-threatening issue, but getting anti-aging surgery in Korea or elsewhere can help to give one a youthful appearance. Usually, when the jaw line is not as pronounced as it used to be, a sagging neck might be to blame. This usually ends up giving the whole face a more rounded shape, which is not particularly attractive. Although a sagging neck most often occurs with older people, some patients have it genetically and from a much younger age. Both cases can be solved through surgical means, and they are often done on both men and women.

Before Surgery

Once you have decided to go ahead with a neck lift, you will need to discuss the whole procedure very carefully with your doctor. Letting the doctor know about your entire medical history will help minimize the risks involved In the operation, as well as to ensure a successful, smooth and speedy recovery.

During and After Surgery

There are different ways that a neck lift procedure can be done, and the latest surgery trends and techniques show that doctors are now able to customize each operation to fit the needs of individual patients. Before the surgery, you will be informed about any possible side effects that could happen, as well as where the incisions will be made. Now, how it is done: Different areas in your face and neck will be marked up and they will serve as guidelines for the entire operation. The neck lift is performed under general anaesthesia, and you will be given IV fluids. You will be connected to monitors that will be tracking your vital signs. In good hands, everything is very well organized and a team of doctors will be overseeing your operation. Once the excess skin is removed, your surgeon will tighten the remaining muscle to improve the look of the neck, and will then close all of the incisions. As part of the recovery period for this type of cosmetic surgery in Korea, patients will have a pressure dressing wrapped around the top of their head and underneath their chin, to stop any unwanted movement. The recovery period spans about three weeks, after which, patients are able to resume with their normal activities.
