Written by Chelsea Kim. Posted in Facial Bone Surgery

Chin Augmentation Surgery in Achieving Facial Balance and Beauty

Among the many parts of the human body, the face pays the highest price. As one enters puberty, she may employ different techniques to enhance the look she already has. There are different beauty products being marketed today that promise to give the face you have long been wanting. But there are just some facial aspects that no amount of beauty product can help boost, such as facial shapes.

There are different facial shapes common to the Asian population: square, rectangular, round, oval, base-down triangular, and diamond. Among the various facial shapes, the oval shape is considered as the most idyllic in the standards of beauty and cosmetics. Some Asians sport the square type of facial shape, meaning one with noticeable jaw lines and squared-off chins. Not many Asian ladies desire to have such facial type, since it makes them look more masculine. One cannot just easily shift from the shape she already has to one that she desires, without going under the knife.  can help enhance the facial shape of Asians and have it appear in a way that is natural and proportionate to the rest of the facial profile.

What does the chin have to do with looking beautiful?

One factor that can affect the facial shape of an individual is its chin structure. The chin can play a major role in facial harmony and looking beautiful. A well-defined chin can help individuals sense that they are younger, healthier, and most importantly, more attractive. To an aging lady, the chin may start to sag, thus creating a major issue on matters of beauty and aesthetics. And to an Asian who has a squared-off chin, making it more gentle and delicate can mean a huge thing with regards to looking gorgeous and more feminine. The best way to enhance and create balance in facial symmetry and shape is through chin augmentation surgery, which helps augment weak chins, sagging chin area because of fatty deposits and excess skin folds, and mal-proportioned jaw line.

How can a chin augmentation surgery help?

It is well-known that facial plastic surgery can help make beautiful Asian faces. One of its methods is chin augmentation surgery which is achieved through the use of chin implants. It can help enhance the core structures of the face, particularly the chin area, which creates a better balance on all the facial features, eventually making any individual have a more attractive look. Chin augmentation can be requested as a sole operation, or in conjunction with other facial cosmetic surgery, such as rhinoplasty, to facilitate a better looking facial equilibrium. Some may be hesitant to get this procedure done, but many people who have undergone chin augmentation surgery testified that after the procedure, they look way better, and the good thing about it is how natural it looks on them. They further say that it has been the best facial appearance they have had for a very long time.

If I am an Asian, where can I get the best chin augmentation surgery?

Why are Asian Doctors the Best for Facial Plastic Surgery?

Written by Chelsea Kim. Posted in Facial Bone Surgery

Why are Asian Doctors the Best for Facial Plastic Surgery?

Would you believe that the first facial plastic surgery was performed in India thousands of years ago? In fact Sushutra, an Indian surgeon and a teacher during 600 BC, is often called the father of Surgery. At that time, facial plastic surgery was performed for people who needed facial reconstruction due to congenital defects and deformities. It was during World War 1 that techniques in face contouring surgery were improved, and performed on soldiers whose faces were disfigured because of the ravages of war. After World War 2, facial plastic surgery was not only used to reconstruct the face of people with physical deformities, but for cosmetic purposes too. The field of facial plastic surgery widened and encompassed numerous procedures, like nose surgery, eye surgery, and face contouring.

At the onset, facial plastic surgery was not as popular as it is now. People, especially in Asian countries, were hesitant to undergo procedures to improve one’s looks due to cultural beliefs and perceptions that you must be content with what you have been born with. It was only during the 1990s that facial plastic surgery became more acceptable, thus paving the way for a boom in the facial plastic surgery field.

What are the Most Popular Types of Facial Plastic Surgery?

There are numerous types of facial plastic surgeries that are in demand in Asia. As Asians become more exposed to the western culture and its standard of beauty, popularity of nose surgery in Asia and double eyelid surgery in reshaping the Asian flavor has surged. Asians want double eyelids, aquiline noses, and even oval faces. These surgeries are not as popular in the western hemisphere, because Caucasian and European faces are structured differently due to genetics, and as the standards of beauty has become universal, it is very understandable that Asians would want to be at par with their western counterparts. Because the younger generations of Asians are more open to change, and are willing to spend for a more westernized look, the demand for these types of surgeries has become wide-spread in Asia.

Are Asian Doctors the Best for Facial Plastic Surgery?

Although there are thousands of doctors specializing in these types of surgeries all over the world, studies show that Asian doctors are the best for people of Asian descent. In fact, there are certain procedures, such as face contouring involving cheekbone and jawbone surgeries, which are not usually done by western medical experts. Asian doctors understand the facial and bone structure of people of Asian descent, and have spent years to train and specialize in procedures involving Asian faces. In fact, this is the reason why Asians from all over the world travel to Asian countries to have their face done and devote time in considering medical tourism to be able to earn that dream faces they really want.

Asian doctors are also gifted with the ability to make their patients feel comfortable. This is very important to gain the trust of their patients. It is often said that the success of any surgery is dependent on the skills of the doctor and the patient’s trust. Asian doctors are the best because they are highly trained, skilled, and most of all, compassionate.

The Uniqueness of Cheek and Jawbone Facial Cosmetic Surgeries among Asians

Written by Chelsea Kim. Posted in Facial Bone Surgery

The Uniqueness of Cheek and Jawbone Facial Surgeries among Asians

Do you know anyone that has facial features like strong cheekbones and prominent mandibular contour sizes? Those individuals are most likely from East Asia, and, in particular, of Korean or Japanese descent. Such facial features make Asians unique among other societies, but some may not take such distinctness as a positive thing. Many opt to have cosmetic surgeries to help achieve optimal aesthetic appearance. People with Asian features aim to have gentler structures, and for those that have distinct zygomas and mandibular angles, it can render an imbalance that creates an overly flat, wide, square, and masculine-inclined kind of face. Other than the effects it can pose on one’s face value, to the Asian culture, protruding zygoma and mandibular angles can have implications of negative personal traits. In some cases, this can be a huge factor in looking for a significant other or entering the workplace.

With the wide variety of cosmetic surgeries available today, Asians can now freely select which procedure to choose according to their reasons. These may be done to enhance any of one’s facial structures, refine any strong components, and rejuvenate existing features, especially those that may initially show signs of aging. They now have numerous options on how to contour faces surgically and achieve that level of ultimate beauty. An in-depth view on cosmetic eyelid surgeries will help one understand and shed light on one of the famous cosmetic facial surgeries.

What are the different techniques utilized in facial reconstruction?

There are different techniques employed in facial cosmetic surgeries. They may involve enhancing a certain facial part with implants or resection of its underlying bone structures. Careful thought must be done by the chosen surgeon in deciding which facial part is to be enhanced, and what technique should be applied.

How can cheek and jaw bone surgeries help in reshaping one’s face?

Among the many choices for facial contouring surgeries, one of the most requested by Asians are those that target either the cheekbones or jawbones, since these are the ones that are often the strongest, and the ones that can create dramatic influences on one’s facial balance. Since most Asians have these structures in protruding nature, the skills needed may focus on augmenting them through implants or reduction of them by shaving off a portion of the supporting bones. One of the excellent examples would be chin augmentation surgery, which will do wonders to one's face. Whatever the technique is, the primary goal is to create a more subtle and feminine look, thus amplifying one’s beauty and taking her self-confidence to another level.

Why is Asia the best place to have a face contouring surgery?

With the many distinct Asian facial features that need a touch of enhancement, it comes as no surprise that Asia is the leading continent when it comes to cosmetic surgeries. The top 3 medical tourism destinations in Asia include India, Singapore, and the most popular, Korea. Seoul is the beauty Capital of Korea, and many clinics are operating in the said city that offers various cosmetic surgeries. Many Asians fly all the way to Korea to have plastic surgery done, since quality results are guaranteed, owing it to its different resources such as world-class professional medical practitioners and high-end facilities.

Facial Plastic Surgery: Making Delicate and Gentle Asian Faces

Written by Chelsea Kim. Posted in Facial Bone Surgery

Facial Plastic Surgery: Making Delicate and Gentle Asian Faces

Beauty standards would tell individuals that the shape and size of the facial skeleton plays a huge role when it comes to facial appearance. Among the many cultural backgrounds worldwide, the facial features can be a contributing factor in differentiating one from the other. Caucasians faces lean toward being longer and narrower. Meanwhile, Asians have larger, wider, and flatter facial aspects.

High cheekbones and distinct mandibular shape are unique to most East Asians, particularly the Koreans and Japanese. People from the West value such facial features, and such facial aspects are often augmented through optimal aesthetic looks. Conversely, due to the more subtle topography of the typical Asian face, zygomas and mandibular angles are highly prominent, thus upsetting the balance, eventually leading to a facial appearance that is overly flat, wide, and square. Such facial features are associated to the masculine mien, which is not one that is preferred by most Asian ladies.

What are the principles behind facial plastic surgery?

There are two principles in facial contouring surgery that help enhance the balance in your facial features: augmentation and reduction. Facial profile can be intensely transformed by augmenting deficient areas, as well as reducing prominent areas. The process of augmentation includes filling in or reconfiguring the patient’s own tissues. Meanwhile, reduction is achieved by contouring or removing a particular facial bone. The primary goal of such procedures is to harmonize and complement the facial proportions. The nose, cheek, and chin uniquely form a structural triangle of the face. A balance between these complexes may be achieved through surgery on one or more of these anatomic facets.

Facial Plastic Surgeries for Asian Ladies

Asian ladies favor a more gentle and feminine facial shape. This can be quite a challenge to them, due to their natural facial characteristics. In achieving a forgiving and enhanced facial feature, several face contouring surgeries can be undertaken to alter the facial bones. Paranasal Augmentation, Cheekbone or Jawbone Surgeries, and Chin Augmentations are the usual facial contouring operations available in Asia. Many countries in Asia specialize in such procedures, and Korea is among the top 3 medical tourism destinations in Asia known to attract the largest number of patients to undertake such procedures. There are many options available when it come to global medical tourism but many Asian medical tourists prefer to fly to Korea for the understanding and highly skilled physicians, as well as up-to-date and highly advanced facilities and equipment. That is perhaps why it comes as no surprise that many believe Asian doctors are the best in facial plastic surgery.

Benefits of Facial Plastic Surgery

There are several benefits attached to facial plastic surgeries. Such perks continue to grow in number as the procedures become more wide-ranging and complex. For most Asians, the advantage that they value most is an enhanced facial contour. Cosmetic surgeons reconfigure the underlying facial structures to refurbish a long-lasting and eye-catching facial contour. With today’s technology, cases of unnatural and artificial facial pulling strategies after a surgery are reduced to a very small number, if not totally eliminated. Surgeons now can achieve a natural-looking face after a cosmetic surgery.

Things to Consider before Undergoing Cheekbone Surgery

Written by Chelsea Kim. Posted in Facial Bone Surgery

Things to Consider before Undergoing Cheekbone Surgery One of my best friends in high school looked fat, even if she was not overweight, because she had a wider cheekbone. She would always pucker her cheeks, hide her face with scarves, and even sport long hair, so she could hide her unsightly cheeks. Unfortunately, this was no help at all! This is a problem she shares with a majority of men and women of Asian descent, as Asians faces are structured differently from Caucasians. The typical Asian face is usually wider, with cheekbones that project sideways, and has a lower nose bridge, a forehead that is broader, and a chin that is flatter and shorter. Most Asians do not have weight problems like Caucasians due to diet and genetics, but Asian faces look larger and fatter, making their face and body look unsymmetrical.

Thankfully, the advancement in the cosmetic procedure field through the years, and the widening acceptance of global medical tourism, has given thousands of men and women of Asian descent hope. There might be people who think that altering one’s facial features is a big no-no, but people with wide cheekbones know that looking good can play a key role in their careers, relationships, and self-esteem. With more and more people flying to other countries and undergoing procedures like cosmetic nose surgery, double eyelid fold surgery, and chin augmentation, it has become natural for them to consider facial contouring surgery to harmonize their new look.

Is It Safe?

Cheek Bone Surgery is an intricate but relatively safe cosmetic procedure. The procedure is done through the mouth and not in the cheeks. Incisions are made inside the mouth, and doctors use these incisions to grind or cut the bones, or bend the bones to project higher cheek bones instead of flatter and wider ones. This is a very important facet in the overall symmetry of the face.

What to Expect after a Cheekbone Surgery?

Aside from explaining the procedure, the doctor will inform you about the preparations before and after a cheekbone surgery. Bruising and swelling are expected, and pain is experienced for the next few weeks. Eating will be laborious, and brushing the teeth and gargling might be difficult. Doctor’s orders will have to be followed strictly, and it would be beneficial to you not to plan any activities for the next two weeks, to ensure that the healing process goes smoothly.

Is it Worth It?

The procedure will, beyond any doubt, make your face look younger and softer. My friend who underwent cheekbone surgery is a living proof of the benefits of medical tourism as it can help alter the course of your life. A few months after the surgery, she became more confident, and people noticed the significant change, not only in her facial attributes but also her attitude towards work and relationships. It was not surprising that she got the promotion she has always aspired for, and a new man in her life who she is about to marry.
