Women with fuller, plumper are often perceived as younger-looking. Korean plastic surgery lip augmentation helps people with thin lips obtain a fuller look. While some people are naturally born with thin lips, others notice that their lips lose their volume with aging. This is because collagen levels in the lips decrease and the skin becomes less firm.
Is it for you?
While it is not particularly on the trendy list of procedures in Asia, according to plastic surgery statistics, if you'd like to plump up your pout, lip augmentation may be your solution. Patients notice a great improvement after the completion of the surgery, which is very evident in before and after Korean plastic surgery pictures. Also, it's always good to first make an appointment with your GP and surgeon, to evaluate your health condition before jumping to it.
How is the procedure performed?
There are various ways to achieve fuller lips through surgery, and the choice depends on the patient’s wishes, as well as their current health and natural lip shape. Fat transfer injections are a popular option, because they are a natural way to remove fat from other parts of your body, process it, and then inject it into your lips. Additionally, patients can also choose to use fillers that are made from natural or synthetic biocompatible material. However, these results are only temporary, and would need to be repeated again in the future once the lips return to their original shape. There are patients who choose this option if they are not entirely certain that they wish to have lip augmentation surgery, because they can easily wait for enough time to pass before their lips return to normal. For more permanent results, lip implants are used to add volume to the lips. They are inserted through tiny incisions in the corners of the mouth and are made out of either natural or synthetic material.
Aftercare and Recovery
For injections, there is barely any recovery period involved. In the hands of thebest plastic surgeons in Korea, if there is any downtime involved, it should only persist for a day or two – without further complications.Using the more invasive technique would require a longer recovery time. The lips will be swollen in the beginning, and it will likely take up to eight weeks for a full recovery. After the first two weeks, patients will be able to return to work and resume their daily activities. However, engaging in vigorous physical activities during the first 8 weeks of recovery, is not recommended here.
