Which clinic/doctor is the best in South Korea?
There are more than 500 clinics and more than 3000 plastic surgeons in Gangnam District of Seoul alone. "Which one is best?" is essentially a wrong question. Rather, it should be "which one is most ideal for me?" and it really comes from Seoul TouchUp's unique database, and we start from customers' request on "drastic change" vs. "natural change".
You might only know "internationally popular ones" because those clinics have English websites and a English marketing team. Good clinics where Korean locals go might not even focus on international marketing as they already have enough customers in Korea alone. Out of all the great clinics, Seoul touchUp will save your time and find the best specialist for your specific case.
Surgery prices for clinics in Gangnam will be similar to each other. But surgery results "are" different depending on doctors' experience, design style, personality and philosophy.
Can I choose my own clinic/doctor?
Of course, you can choose or you can let us professionally select the specialist for you.
Which is better though? Most customers trust our professional selection over their limited selection. We have seen and coordinated hundreds of cases at various clinics and this is why we are confident to suggest the most ideal clinic/doctor to you.
Also, having a Korean friend doesn't mean he/she can help your life-changing decision. We highly recommend you use our services if you are not familiar with Korean plastic surgery clinics.
Please check our customers' real testimonials at TouchUp Review.
How much will my surgery cost?
This will depend on the kind of cosmetic surgery you need and what your doctor recommends. Seoul TouchUp has designed a number of treatment packages and payment programs for your benefit. Prices and payment plans will be discussed during your consultation.
We have prepared a price range for your convenience. Please visit your "TouchUp Members Lounge" to get a rough estimate on Korean Plastic Surgery Costs.
What is included in the cost of the operation?
The price estimate you will receive from us is an all-in price. Here are the things included in the cost: clinic/hospital admission fees, administrative fees, supplies (implants), medications (painkiller, anti-biotics, etc) use of necessary equipment and professional fees for both pre-operative and post-operative care. It will also include hospitalization for major surgeries. Any anesthesia required for your procedure such as intravenous (IV) sedation, local anesthesia and general anesthesia is also included in the cost.
How long should I stay in Korea?
We recommend that you stay in Korea for a minimum of 7-12 days or possibly more depending on the type cosmetic surgery you will be undergoing. You will want to allow yourself plenty of time to heal and to see the final results of your surgery before returning home.
Please check out our packages for more info.
What is the best time to prepare for the trip?
Usually, customers come within 1 week to 3 months. We also tell our customers to be patient in their application if they are thinking of coming after 4-12 months.
If you are a celebrity or a high-profile person and your dates are not flexible and coming to Korea any time soon, please let us know. We will try to put you on a priority list.
Medical Tourism Agency vs. Using a Freelancer vs. Coming Alone
Korean plastic surgery doesn't mean that it is "always good". We coordinate medical trips for our clients on a daily basis, and many times, we notice that clients acquire false information from the Internet or some online forums. It is maybe because there are many unethical clinics and agencies that gave many bad experiences to international customers in the past decade.
Seoul TouchUp is one of the few government approved medical tourism companies in South Korea. We are located in Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea with licensed medical tourism coordinators. It means that we will be your advocate for your surgeries, and we are required to record every event of your trip and report to the government for safety. Also, you will have our unbiased support and professional advices when choosing a clinic/doctor.
Using a translator might be your second option but translation is not why you would want to use a medical tourism company. Freelancers don't take responsibility over your medical procedures, and it doesn't ensure you against unexpected situations.
Note Please be extra careful as it is illegal to use a freelancer.
Lastly, yes, you can come alone and walk to different clinics and use their translation services. But what would be your plan when the surgery is done? It is clearly not a good idea to take a taxi or subway with you wrapped up in bandages in a country where English/Chinese is not a mainstream language.
Does Seoul TouchUp only provide surgeries shown in the surgery overview pages?
No. Our surgery overview pages show only popular plastic surgery procedures in South Korea. If you are considering other surgeries, please write in detail about what you desire in Get-Started Page.
Does Seoul TouchUp only provide TouchUp Packages?
No. We offer customised VIP tours, FAM tours, Beauty Tours, Medical Training Tours and Medical M.I.C.E. For more information, please Contact Us.
Do I need a special visa for cosmetic surgery?
That will depend on what country you are coming from. Most of our clients come to Korea with a regular travel visa (C-3: short-term general). However, citizens of some developing countries might need to apply for a medical visa (C-3-M) (as of 2009.05.11). It is important to note that you don’t need a medical visa if you can get a travel visa.
You can apply for a medical visa with the assistance of Seoul TouchUp, as we are one of the few entities registered with KHIDI for medical tourism (Visa type: C-3-M [90 days] and G-1-M [1 year]). You will need to contact us directly to apply for one. For the cosmetic surgeries we provide, you will need a 90 day visa (C-3-M). It is important to note that without our invitation and approval it is not possible for clients to get a medical visa.
I am too nervous to come alone. Can you organize my schedule with other people?
Yes, we can certainly schedule your trip with other Seoul TouchUp members. We will do our very best to accommodate all requests for this service but please understand that you may need to wait for other individuals who wish to travel at the same time as you and we have no control over how long you may have to wait.
Please visit our Korean plastic surgery forum to request this service. If you are thinking of coming with other medical tourists, you can openly discuss this with TouchUp Community - you might want to specify how large a group you want to join.
