I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for yummy soft foods / liquid foods to eat when recovering. Particularly if you have stitches inside the mouth or there is a lot of swelling that makes chewing difficult.
I don't think I will have the energy/motivation for making fruit smoothies or anything like that after surgery. But then again, it makes me sad to think of eating porridge for days on end... -.-

hmm well I only had braces on my teeth and they would prevent me from chewing for a week because of the pain. During that time I would eat:
- turnip cakes (hong kong or singapore style while trying to avoid tiny pieces of meat)
- stewed soft fishes
- okonomiyaki
- tofu (like tofu soup)
- roasted sweet potatoes
The problem is this is what I eat in Canada. I don't know how readily available these foods are in Korea. :$

I responded to this on another thread but I'll add onto it. Some of these require no chewing, others will work for when you can chew a little bit but still need very soft foods:
-applesauce or any kind of fruit puree
-soft ripe fruits (bananas, melons, peaches), canned fruit, or cooked fruit
-milkshakes/ice cream/frozen yogurt
-cottage cheese
-yogurt (can't believe i forgot yogurt!)
-pudding, custard, or Jell-O
-scrambled eggs
-cooked vegetables, if you cook them until they're very soft
-macaroni
-cooked cereals (oatmeal, etc) or dry cereal softened with milk
-soups or stews (nothing with tough or chewy meat or very large pieces of veggies/meat)
-rice
-mashed potatoes or mashed (or roasted) sweet potatoes
-bottled fruit smoothies, since you don't think you'll be able to make them
-fruit or veggie juice, eg V-8 (I imagine V-8 isn't a thing in Korea but I'm sure they have similar stuff)
Others who have gone through their trips already have said that staff have gotten groceries for them, but if it was me I would probably pack stuff like pudding or Jell-O mix, some of the little plastic containers of applesauce, maybe some bottled fruit/vegetable juice or smoothies. It never hurts to be prepared.
