Wondering if anyone has any experience/info on when certain procedures heal enough to allow one to go back to work/school without terrifying people.

For double eyelid surgery, my stitches were removed after 3 days. Swelling subsided after about 8 days, and discolouration from bruising is still present but minor. Most people think I just have eye shadow on, tbh hahaha.

For rhinoplasty, I personally had my stitches removed after 6 days due to my weird schedule. Swelling is still present in my tip now but very subtle and most people didn't notice in my situation. Luckily for me, the scars are nearly invisible, but I'm sure you can just cover it up with makeup, when it's appropriate to. :p

I got my surgeries 10 days ago.

@dnice does it hurt very much after the first few days? I'm thinking that putting makeup on to cover it up might not be the best idea if it is still really tender or, god forbid, if the skin is still open, that is asking for infection. (I know literally nothing about recovery so forgive my ignorance)

I don't have a really high pain tolerance, and I didn't think it hurt at all, but it was rather uncomfortable. During the first few days, my face was really swollen, so I remember my face feeling "heavy" or like there's a lot of pressure in certain places where I wasn't numb. I was told that I could put makeup on on the 8th day by the doctor, but I decided to wait 5 more days, just to be safe. I would ask the doctor though, because depending on your recovery rate, the range may change. No one noticed ANYYY scars at all, to my surprise. The lines from double eyelid surgery were quite apparent to me, but since I already had double eyelids prior, no one thought twice about it. As for my nose, I'm short, so most people are unable to see the bottom of my nose anyways, haha. My boyfriend did notice some swelling though when I brought it up. I think I was the only one who noticed the scars although I didn't really dwell on it.

Also, no worrrries. Ask away! I didn't know much about recovery until I asked and experienced it for myself. :p

Recovery time is very important to me! I work as a full time model in New York, so I would need to know how long to take off before resuming work! Now that you've had surgery for a while, so approximately how long was it for you before the swelling in your nose went down? Thanks!

I totally understand as I'm a dancer and have very regular stage/TV performances. I can't look all stitched up. But from what I'm seeing, most things settle into place after about two weeks to the point of being unnoticable for anyone who isn't looking for a change. This is also probably dependent on the surgery, as I plan to get my jaw shaved down which should have longer recovery than, say, double eyelid surgery.

You are a goddess! 2 weeks would be perfect since I plan on getting it May 17-25, then resume work in June. When are you thinking about getting your jaw shaved?

You are so cute!^^ I live in Tokyo so I'm thinking about going during the Japanese Golden Week which is the end of April/beginning of May.

I actually want to get a ton of stuff done (jaw shaved, aquiline nose correction rhinoplasty, zygoma reduction, loveband/lateral canthoplasty and possibly fat grafting to my boobs) so it's a good time to go as I have a solid 10 days with no school or work.

COLLEGE IS GONNA KILL ME -_____-;

No, it has a bump which makes me sad. It's also kind of long and severe which makes me look older and kinda witchy but not in a cute way.

I just want something done about my nose since i dont know how well my agency would take it if I came back a new person :P

The base of my nose is really wide and the skin around my nostrils are super thick. When makeup artists do my make up for editorials, I feel like they have to do so much contouring. And even then, in certain angles my nose is still super flat. I'll post some examples to show you what I mean. Right now is perfect for a touch up since I am still a new face and haven't had my debut in fashion week yet :P

I couldn't post photos since they're too large so ill send the link:

Hi, I live in Toronto. My nose shape is very ugly. It makes me look even more bad. My ugly nose is a laughing stock in my college. I want to get rid of it at the earliest.  So I'm planning to undergo a rhinoplasty surgery. Mine is a Crooked Ugly Long Nose. In a website, I found there are several rhinoplasty procedure ( .....inoplasty/ ), and I'm confused which rhinoplasty procedure should I choose that would change my facial appearance. Any advice or suggestion will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
