Hello,
I want to pay for my surgery in cash so I don't have to pay the extra tax fee at JW for using a debit card when paying for my surgery.
How can I bring a large amount of money with me from the US to Korea?
Am I aloud to bring a large of money on a plane?
Will I have to somehow exchange my USD money for KRW when I get to Korea?
How can I exchange my USD money for KRW when I get to Korea?
Thanks :].

GOOD MORNING!
YES! It's a bit cumbersome to exchange $ and take care of all these logistics. You are allowed to bring USD$10,000 in cash on the airplane, for which you don't have to declare. Customers who feel uncomfortable bringing cash around, just wire-transfer to our company and we take care of all these necessary steps. Also, Seoul TouchUp accepts multiple currencies such as $USD, RMB & EUR - If you are coming anytime soon, you can submit the form at .....et-started and let us answer questions in detail :)
Thank you!

@Seoul TouchUp:
Can I wire-transfer extra money as well? Just so I can have extra cash just in case I want to buy stuff in Seoul. Also, when I wire-transfer money to your company, can that be the way that I pay for my plan (Lite Plan,Compact Plan..) as well?
Thanks :].

Thanks :].
Yes, please send us the get-started form when you're ready to come to Korea and then we can help you choose clinic and surgeon, and plan your life-changing beauty trip

@Green Lee: Hello. Yeah, but that's the thing... How am I suppose to know how much money to bring when surgeries are different prices at different clinics? Like, rhinoplasty could be more at JW then at Grand for example. I am not 100% sure which clinic I am choosing.
Thanks though. :]

I'm sure they'll give you a range of the cost before you go to Korea. Bring a little more than the estimate cost just in case. I think that should be fine.

I would suggest doing some calculations before you go. When you talk to Seoul TouchUp before going, they should give you a range of estimated prices. For shopping and food, you can Google the approximate cost of a lot of things. (Make sure you factor in the current exchange rate if it isn't already being used, though!) Also remember that you can still access your credit/debit card accounts and whatnot in Korea so if you need to withdraw more money you can do so. Depending on the plan you choose Seoul TouchUp will provide you with a "tourism translator" - someone to go around with you and translate as you are shopping and stuff - so they can help with money withdrawal.

They have the price estimate here :https://www.seoultouchup.com/korean-plastic-surgery-cost/
Also, you can use expedia to find the cheapest airfare! Also, food and others depend solely on how much you want to spend on shopping, food, etc!

Can some bring up to $100,000 cashinto Seoul without problems??
100K is a large sum of money.. o.o
It's pretty helpful when the admins reply to forum inquiries; for those of us who aren't quite ready to travel to Korea but would still like to know specific details, etc...
Ah, this forum is great. If only we were all more active around here. ^^"

@Mitchie Thanks for your active involvement in our forum :)
$100k is really a large sum of money and you must need to take care of it well. Although you are not legally allowed to bring that much of cash on the airplane, you can wire it before you fly to Korea. Since this is really huge money, to plan out your finances, please contact our medical coordinator first before you decide to do so :)
In fact, many customers feel the same as you do, and some are worried about losing it while travelling, so they just wire all or part of money before they come to Korea.
Thank you! :) and hope it answered your question! and we hope to see you soon in Korea :)

Is there a fee to wire the payment to you, to withdraw, and also to re-transfer any balance back into a personal account?

I know this is an old topic but I wanted to bump it with my own question. Does any clinic or is there anyway to do payment plans?
Have you tried emailing the clinics you're interested in getting payment plans with? :o It might be best to just get the information straight from the source!
