Getting Plastic Surgery in Korea on Eyebags?

Written by Chelsea Kim. Posted in Asian Eye Surgery

plastic surgery in korea on eye bagMany foreigners have a hard time understanding why someone would undergo plastic surgery in korea on eye bags. But the point of it isn't to pronounce the look of eye bags, but to create aegyo-sal.  Except that it's not to create puffy eyes or eye bags. It's different. In fact, it aims to create a youthful look. This look also gained worldwide popularity in 2013.

‘Cute skin’ for a younger and fresher look

This Korean eye surgery accentuates the ‘fatty’ skin underneath the eyes and makes the eyes look as if they are permanently smiling. This is not the same as looking tired. Instead, the eyes look plumper and more youthful. Many people try to achieve this look through makeup and special sticky tape, but plastic surgery is the only way to make it permanent and precise.

A simple procedure for a cute look

Puffiness that is not a result of being tired or ill is created by the fat immediately underneath the lower eyelid. Many people have this naturally, and it can also change in both size and shape over the years, and also depends on the health of the body. Even if a person does not have this look naturally, it will still appear temporarily when they smile because the orbicularis oculi (under eye muscle) becomes pronounced. The Aegyo sal in usually done in combination with lower cosmetic eyelid surgery because the same incision is used to create the cute puffy look and also to change the shape of the lower eyelid if needed. The muscle that appears when a person naturally smiles is moved to a slightly different position so that it remains visible even when the rest of the face is relaxed. Another surgical way to create this plastic surgery in Korea on eye bag look is to transfer one’s own fatty tissue (usually from the abdomen, thigh or hip area) to the under-eye, which would give it more volume, but in a very natural way using your own body’s fat. This procedure is very unlikely to cause any complications specifically because it does not introduce any unknown elements to the skin. The procedure is especially suitable for:

  1. People who were thinking of getting an eyelid surgery in general and would add this as an extra step.
  2. People who wish to look younger and ‘cuter’.
  3. Healthy individuals who are capable of undergoing this surgery.

The recovery time for this plastic surgery in Korea on eye bag is a very short couple of weeks, after which the patient can return to their normal activities. They will be required to wear small bandages for about a week to allow the incisions to heal without leaving scars behind, but even so, the results of the surgery will be visible almost instantly. This is a very popular Korean actress plastic surgery trend that does not require a complicated procedure, can be done by almost anyone, and almost certainly guarantees a fresh and youthful look!
