Korean eyelid surgery and Korean rhinoplasty are one of the most highly sought after surgeries to be performed in Korea. There's also a new trend going on right now – with or without surgery involved. It is aegyo sal.

Surgery is not necessarily needed here. However, this puffed-up look is not to be confused with horrendous eye bags. While the infamous and unattractive eye bags are purple or blue in colour, aegyo sal or the puffed up look is in neutral or pinkish colour.

In everyday body language, a genuine smile normally involves the entire face and a lot of facial muscles – usually, there is a tightening around the eyes! In the aegyo sal look, these little pockets of skin just under the eye puffs up ever so slightly which in some way automatically emulates a friendly demeanour. It is similar to how many young and older women groom and tread their eyebrows, sometimes to get rid of thick and untamed eyebrows that can give off a hard, angry look. In a way, aegyo sal is said to be seen in younger Asian females, but make of that what you will!
